Form 709, the Gift Tax Return, is due on April 15th just like your personal tax return. If you gave more than $14,000 – in cash or property – to any one individual in 2014 ($28,000 if a married couple gave the gift together), you must file this return. No tax will be due with this form, though it may impact your future estate tax obligation. Talk to Tucson Tax Team before you give the gift.
